Hazel X. Ang (they/them) is a scientist and business development professional at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore. They identify as gender non-binary, trans-masculine and queer.
After earning their BSc (Pharmacy) from the National University of Singapore and working as a clinical pharmacist at Singapore General Hospital, they completed a PhD in Pharmacology at Duke University, researching drug resistance in precision cancer therapies under an A*STAR National Science Scholarship. During postdoctoral work at Karolinska Institutet, Hazel studied aging biology while serving on the Postdoc Association Executive Board, contributing to the KI Researchers' Blog, and advocating for diversity in STEMM.
Now with IMCB's Tech-Biz team, they facilitate biotech and pharma collaborations that translate scientific innovations into commercial opportunities within Singapore's research ecosystem.
